I remember watching let's plays of Zebra Gamer of this game as a kid, and it looked so adorable that i had to get it when i saw it was on sale. I originally played (and completed) this game on the switch, and ended up enjoying it so much I decided to repurchase it on steam. The controls feel just as responsive as the switch version's! If you like warrior cats, or grew up playing games where you'd roleplay as an animal, there's a good chance you'll like what this game has to offer, as this feels very much like that, but in a single player video game...

absolutely lovely game. i used to play this a lot on my laptop during the pandemic. i still play from time to time, cattails holds a special place on my heart.

Cattails is quite a simple little game. Like many titles that feature daily in-game events and things to do that are restricted to certain times of the year, it often feels like you have too much to do and you're always rushed. But that's essentially my only complaint. I had fun with it, and if you were ever into Warrior cats, you'll probably get a fair amount of mileage here.

I love this game! Combat is not super interesting (in my boyfriend's opinion), but the sneak-and-pounce hunting mechanic is really fun. The "hard" difficulties are actually pretty hard, especially when you're just starting out. The other cats WILL rock your sh*t. It's super cute and I find that I can't stop collecting coat colors. Getting the last rare bug I needed hurt me, physically. I spent 2 hours circling the festival grounds slaughtering ladybugs. I built a sacrificial altar of their slain corpses, hoping it would act as a warning - that while I knew the blue ladybug hated me, I also hated it. An absolute must-play for Warrior Cats fans. The game itself is pretty different, of course, but it got the feel. Most things (including mechanics) are balanced well enough, but I'd prefer more to the battles than just spamming space.
