Omega Strike version 1.0.1 is out now!

2017-10-10

Omega Strike has been out now for almost a week and has been generally well received by the players. Huge thanks to everyone for the support! Some new bugs have been discovered so here's to first patch to address some issues with the game. Along with the bug fixes I've also added a new feature to the game: you can now check on the map screen which items are yet to be found in each area. This should make it a bit easier to find all of the items for a 100% run.

Why review a game you can't get anymore? Mostly because people might have it in their library and don't know if it's any good. And the answer is... yeah, it's pretty solid. It's hardly the greatest metroidvania, but it's pretty fun as it is. The art and animations are nice and the gameplay is pretty fun despite being pretty basic for the genre. No part of the game will blow your mind and it's pretty easy, but...

If this game ever comes back up for sale, know that it's stolid for the most part. The main issue is that one character gets the majority of the upgrade abilities, and it can be tedious to switch to him what feels like constantly. I just want to play with the double jump shotty guy who gets a dash the whole time!
