As a student of Astral the wizard, you and your friends study all the usual subjects: reading, writing, and sword fighting. As your time at school draws to an end, dark events are taking place on the island of Grans. The two Jewels which seal the Door to Darkness have been stolen, allowing a creature of awesome power to be unleashed.

Great RPG, I would recommend this to anyone who has enjoyed playing RPGs like Fire Emblem, Breath of Fire, Final Fantasy and Golden Sun on GBA - The game is a great sequel to the first game in the series. It has 15-30 hours of gameplay, just like Shining Force 1. 9/10 Compared to 10/10 of Shining Force 1.

Shining Force 2 is jRPG-like TRPG. Yep, a sequel, albiet the developers got to make two SF games on Game Gear before this. Still 'casual' due no permadeath. Made by Camelot known as Sonic Co. when they worked for Sega. Came out in 1993 in Japan, got to the West in 1994. 16 Megabit ROM, 2 in-game save slots. This along with its predecessor Shining Force I is an absolutely unique mix of tactical RPG and traditional JRPG town and overworld exploration. In pure Strategy RPGs, what you get is usually a sequence of battles separated by cutscenes. Personally, that causes me to burn out pretty fast because of the repetition.
