The Pulse Studio development team is committed to supporting our users. And one way of doing that is by adding features and squashing bugs! We have released a new version of Escape Black Orion VR with several updates, new features, and killed bugs. Remember, if you have any issues in the game that we should know about, please contact us! We're excited to maintain our Escape Black Orion VR series. Good luck opening that door! And keep an eye out for Episode II Updates • Oculus Users can now take advantage of the Oculus Store communicating with the game. This includes checking if the HMD is on and if not, (or if the sensors lose you, or if you enter the Oculus menu), the game will pause so you don't lose time. • Buttons get accidentally pressed, that's why we added a confirmation screen to the menu for certain options such as 'Restart Game'. • The team has released 8 achievements to be earned in your attempt to escape! Good luck. Bug fixes • All achievements are now open and ready to be earned throughout the game. • Several Pipes in the Pipe maze were mistakenly causing a fail on some devices. • Main Menu and In-Game menu pausing was have an effect on the controller input. Some users were unable to continue. • Controller input issues. We have now separated the input by device profiles. So Oculus and Vive users can play with input that makes sense to them. Looks like it could be interesting, but feels like a point and click that got converted to VR. I gave it 3 chances. But, frustrating controls, getting put in the wrong place at the start, and having to endure the starting scene each time I all of a sudden died is just too much. Also seems to take zero advantage of being in VR.

Hard to decide if this review is positive or negative. Took me few minutes to get the hang of the controls (unfortunately, no free movement, your tools are doing the legwork for you), and then around 17 minutes to finish the first room. There is not much to it afterwards - as the game is episodic, and only episode 1 is there, you get the message to wait for episode 2. Curious to see more, but unfortunately too little...

I'm afraid I cannot reccommend this as there is very little to it, hand position and object grabbing are all wrong, at least with the vive wands. Also, performance problems. My 1070 was the bottleneck and had immense trouble running it, yielding frame times in excess of 20ms. The game itself is okay for such a low price, but nothing great either.
