I'm a fan of ACE Team and Zeno Clash I & II, and I think Clash is also a good game but a bit less interesting even though more refined in the gameplay. I like that there's no handholding, but fights are a bit repetitive, they all feel the same and I have a BIG problem with save points. This is such a great game. TLDR: it has great gameplay mechanics, spectacular character and world design, wonderful voice acting, and a narrative that ranges from goofy to heartwarming to enriching. There's really one main rule when it comes to the Zeno Clash universe. Every single person deserves an ass whoopin' whether it be by the content of their character or the composition of their face. Art looks cool. Motions are clunky at times. Zero guidance so you wander around small maps hoping to find anything to get to a new location. Pathetic stat increases (like .01, no joke). Inadequate tutorial. No explanations for how to even drink a potion. Poorly made good looking game.

TL;DR recommend if you like experimental media, challenging games, definitely needs more love. I don't know how this game has never gotten recommended to me, never had a friend mention it, never seen discourse online (until I found this game on a whim and found out the fact that this game didn't get hardly any attention on release), because this game is impressive in many ways that I fail to see many games...
